Cleaning and Restoration
All Service Carpet and Upholstery Care utilizes state-of-the-art cleaning methods approved by the IICRC in all of our carpet cleaning and restoration services. Every home can be expected to have at least some soiling in the carpet, but do you really know exactly what it is that you are walking on every day? Soil and sand are simply
the beginning of the problem. Food particulates, pollen, pet dander, dead skin cells, dust mites and dust mite feces are just a few of the unseen health hazards which
reside just beneath our feet, deep within the fibers of our carpets. Germs and bacteria also make your carpet their home, and they thrive on most of the afformentioned particulates above. As you can see, spots and stains really are only "on the surface" issues in the field of carpet cleaning and restoration.
All cleaning appointments begin with a thorough pre-cleaning inspection, conducted by the supervising technician assigned to service you. After all issues and additional charges have been addressed, the cleaning process begins. The carpeting is first neutralized with a pressurized alkaline cleaning agent spray to degrade and emulsify soiling, making it much easier to remove. Urine damage and other spots/stains are also pre-treated in this stage of the cleaning. After the pre-spray has been allowed to dwell for an adequate period of time, extraction begins in the furthest room from the point of entrance. Proper cleaning methods (according to IICRC standards) are extremely important to the success of the cleaning of your carpet, however, proper drying is just as imperitive in that carpet when left overly wet will begin to mildew and produce a foul odor and in some cases, even microbial growth. All Service counters this by using a second drying stroke of the wand after the initial extraction, leaving your carpeting only slightly damp to the touch. Drying time is usually about 6 hours, during which time walking on the carpet should be kept to a minimum, if at all. After your carpets have been cleaned, any furniture which has been moved is replaced on styrofoam blocks and waxpaper tabs, protector is applied if applicable and your service is complete!
